![]() I regret that I failed to keep track of this thread. The standard version of Logitech Media Server on VortexBox 2.3 (Fedora 20) is LMS 7.8. When I get there, however, I should be able to respond to your inquiry. I won't be able to test the SoTM until I return to that place at the end of next month. I got a microrendu for my main system and moved my SoTM server into a system at another location. Unfortunately, I can't test the current state of affairs on my SoTM server, which has the 2.3 installation. From another post here, I gathered that I had the last version that was going to be made available, which even then was several months old. To respond to your question, I added the script from the old Wiki that allowed for updating of LMS from the nightly updates, but it stopped updating early this year. I did not see this response to my question until now, Transporter. You are done.I just wanted to leave belated thanks here. Check you version of LMS again, it will be the latest STABLE version. The window will show you everything that was updated or if nothing was updated. Scroll down to Vortexbox Upgrade and click, then click Start Upgrade. Next enter the IP Address of your Vortexbox on a broswer URL Line to open up the Vortexbox GUI. Please open LMS then click on settings in the lower right corner, next in the new browser window that opens click on the INFORMATION Tab and then read and post us the top line. If the answer is YES and you only want the latest and greatest STABLE LMS Version, you will need to remove those commands and installs with: If the answer is NO and you only want the latest and greatest STABLE LMS Version, all you have to do are the Yum clean up and Yum update commands or just use the update button in the GUI if your Vortexbox is stock. My last question for you is have you EVER entered the commands from the CMD Line to pull down a Nightly Version Update or entered the commands to get the Squeeze Community Versions, Yes or No? My 2.4 Vortexbox (which is my Movies Vortexbox) is running LMS Version: 7.9.0 - 0.150.20161204git1480516903 Mon Mar 20 17:30: after doing a DNF update My 2.3 Vortexbox is running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 0.150.20161204git1480516903 Sun Dec 4 22:31: after doing a Yum Update Would these instructions also work for 2.3? Would the update command bring LMS 7.9 or has that only been updated for 2.4?Please open LMS then click on settings in the lower right corner, next in the new browser window that opens click on the INFORMATION Tab and then read and post us the top line. ![]() I do mind a total fresh install of Vortexbox 2.4 (since I have a two disc install and some valuable info dissapeared with the lost forum). I don't mind a fresh install of LMS, without preserving prefs (though I would like to save my favourites) How to return/update to ' the latest LMS in the VortexBox 2.4 repo' ? ![]() When I enter dnf clean all dnf update, the latest nightly LMS wants to revert/update back to the SqueezeCommunity LMS version (which dates back to october 2016). Now 7.9 is 'official' and Andrew supplied an updated Vortexbox 2.4 LMS repo I would like to switch back. Since the Squeeze Community was no longer maintained I switched to the Slim Devices Nightly Repo (again as per instructions in the wiki and info found on the lost forum and retrieved at the slimdevices forum). After upgrading to Vortexbox 2.4 a few months ago I switched the included Logitechmediaserver to the Squeeze Community version (as per instructions in the wiki), to have some more functionality and because I could.
